What the free beta stores
During the free assessment, TypeVoyage stores your progress, answers, result, assessment version, and an anonymous session identifier in your browser's local storage. This lets you refresh the page and revisit a result on the same browser without creating an account.
This browser-owned information is not currently uploaded to a TypeVoyage database. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or opening the link on another device may make the result unavailable.
Anonymous product analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page traffic and a small set of product events, such as starting or completing the assessment. The analytics integration does not receive assessment answers, personality type, result text, email addresses, or anonymous session identifiers from TypeVoyage.
Before an analytics event is sent, TypeVoyage removes query strings and fragments and replaces identifiers in result and future private routes with generic route labels. Vercel Web Analytics is configured without advertising cookies or cross-site user profiles.
Hosting and technical logs
Our hosting and security providers may process ordinary request data, such as IP address, browser type, requested path, approximate region, and timestamps, to deliver and protect the service. TypeVoyage does not intentionally place answer text or free-result content in routine application logs.
Accounts, payment, and career context
The current public beta does not yet collect account details, career context, or payment information. Before those features are enabled, this policy will be updated to describe the data, purpose, providers, retention, and account controls involved.
Your choices
You can remove locally stored assessment data through your browser's site-data controls. You may also use browser privacy protections that block analytics. Blocking local storage can prevent progress recovery and result revisiting, but the assessment can still remain open in the current tab.
